2. What We Collect & Why
We practice Data Minimization. We do not want your data unless it is strictly necessary to operate the directory.
A. Information You Provide Voluntarily
- "Submit Intel" Form: If you submit a new spot or a correction, we may collect your email address (optional) to verify the submission or notify you of publication.
- Content & Media: Any text reviews or photos you upload are processed to be displayed publicly on the CasiLocal directory. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display this content.
B. Technical Data (The Infrastructure)
- Local Storage: We use your browser’s Local Storage to save your interface preferences (e.g., if you toggled "Dark Mode" or filtered by "Silence"). This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
- Server Logs: Our hosting provider automatically logs IP addresses and request timestamps for security purposes (DDoS protection, error debugging). These logs are retained for a limited period and then purged.
3. Third-Party Processors
We rely on specific external services to power the infrastructure. We have ensured these partners are compliant with EU data standards.

A Note on AI: CasiLocal uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze publicly available Google Reviews to generate our "Suitability Scores." We do not feed your private form submissions or personal contact details into these models.
4. Cookies
We strictly limit the use of cookies.
- Essential Cookies: Required for the site to function (e.g. load balancing).
- Google Maps Cookies: If you interact with an embedded map, Google may set cookies to track your location and preferences according to their own Privacy Policy.
- Analytics: We do not currently use third-party tracking pixels or analytics software.
You can block cookies via your browser settings. The site will remain functional, though map features may degrade.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under EU law, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right of Access: You can ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can ask us to fix incorrect data (e.g., if we credited your submission to the wrong name).
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can ask us to delete your submission data or email address from our records.
- Right to Object: You can withdraw consent for us to display your photo or review at any time.

CasiLocal contains links to external sites (e.g., Google Maps, cafe websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. When you leave our domain, their rules apply.
